William John Beebe, 66 of Charlevoix, died Nov. 19, 2019 at Boulder Park Terrace, after a valiant fight with Huntington Disease.
He was born June 21, 1953 in Flint the son of William and Isobel (Hamilton) Beebe. He graduated with an Associates Degree and went to work for the Grand Trunk Railroad, retiring after 30 years of service.
In 2001 William moved to Charlevoix where he became active in the community he fell in love with. He also volunteered for many events and activities that took place throughout the community and with the Community Reformed Church. William enjoyed fly fishing and was an avid foodie. His favorite pastime was playing his guitar. He loved having friends over to sit around the bonfire, play their guitars and eat wonderful food.
On October 19, 2009 he married Margaret Thatcher who survives. Also surviving are his son Dane (Kathy) McBaine of New York, stepdaughters Emily Bates of Ann Arbor, Lydia Bates of Traverse City, sisters Debbie Bullock of Flint, Denise Klingbeil of Petoskey, brother Robert “Bob” Beebe of Attica, step mother Doris Beebe, and many other loving family members who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Seth Beebe (2018), and sister Diane Stingle (2015).
