Robert (Bobby) Gaylord, 80 of Mancelona, left this world Sunday November 21 after a short intense bout with cancer.  He was born at home in Mancelona on August 14, 1941 to parents Charles and Nancy Gaylord.

He leaves behind two step-grandchildren, Billy and Cheyanne Hampton and their children, a brother Bruce (Anna Mary) Gaylord of Texas, and a sister Bonnie (Doug) Dean of Alden, as well as three nieces and one nephew.

Bob spent his working career as a union journeyman electrician in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area.  According to his coworkers, he was very good at his job.  He moved to his Grandma Allen’s property on Leonard Road in Mancelona upon his retirement.

Bob owned and flew his own plane for several years.  He liked to read, fish and pick mushrooms.  He loved his family, friends, and his many pets.

Bob was predeceased by his wife Glenda Gaylord, his parents, and his brother Bill Gaylord.  He will be missed by his many cousins, friends, and extended family members.

No service is planned at this time.  A celebration of life will be organized in the spring at the farm, with details to come as they are available.

Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Sign his online guestbook
