Doris Eilene Hall, 94, of Mancelona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was born on February 13, 1927, the daughter of Donald and Elva (Yeagley) Wallace.
Doris graduated from Fayette High School in Ohio. She moved to Mancelona in 1959 and worked as a clerk for Meeder Lumber and the United States Postal Service. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, polka and square dancing, and doing crossword puzzles.
Doris is survived by her four children, Peggy (John) Roberts of Bloomington, IN, Wanda (Michael) VanZile of Kalkaska, Margie (John) Wheeler of Beverly Hills, FL, and Julie Kimpel of Kalkaska; step-son, Robert “Bobby” (Angie) Hall of Little Rock, AR; two sister-in-law’s, Phyllis Kelly-Gill and Darlene Kizer; 18 grandchildren, Sgt. 1st Class, John “JP” (Wendy) Roberts II, USA, Retired, Michael (Jessica) Roberts, Douglas (Crystal) Biehl, Brian Biehl, Scott Tinker, Randolph “Randy” (Krystal) Tinker, Tammy (Caleb) Horton, Ryan (Misty) Groleau, Lauren (Curtis) Drullinger, Joshua (Kaley) Kimpel, Courtney (Matt) Davis, Michael (Kristi) Hall, Michelle (Rex) Chubb, Timothy (Amanda) VanZile, Andrea (Dan) Flores, Nicole (Paul) Delosh, Melissa (Brett) Taylor and Jackie (Nathan) Lehman; 34 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lauren Kizer; her second husband, Robert G. Hall; two sisters, Mabel Hall and Lavonna Brawley; a brother, Paul Wallace; and two brothers-in-law, Daniel Kelly and DuWayne Kizer, step-daughter Vicki Hall and son in law Artie Biehl.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Mancelona United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, and again on Friday from noon until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mancelona United Methodist Church.
