Obituary

Daniel Jay Butler, 75 of Bellaire, died November 7, 2020 at home. He was born November 19, 1945 in Traverse City, the son of Vernon and Vivian (Bedell) Butler.

   Dan was a 1964 graduate of Bellaire Public Schools and proudly served in the United States Army.  He worked as a surveyor for the State of Michigan, retiring after 18 years of dedicated service. 

   Dan was an avid hunter.  He spent many hours tending his food plots and working his land.  He enjoyed going to his hunting cabin in the UP and camping too.  He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida.  Dan was a member of the Central Lake VFW.

   Surviving are his sisters Margie (Carl) Griffith of Bellaire and Betty (Dane) Parks of Palmer, AK.  Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Marcy (Sean) Farnsworth, Mary (Thomas) Bridge, Carla (Brian) Witowski, Terri Richards, Kristin (Ron) Savoie, Scott (Bonnie) Crandall, Dan (Tina) Parks and Suzanne (Daniel) Bedwell.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda (Roger) Crandall.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date.
