Walter G. Ransom

Of Central Lake, formerly of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on April 6th, 2025 at the age of 77. Walt retired from the city of Lansing after many faithful years of service. He was a life time member of AmVets, being a Vietnam War Veteran. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, horseshoes and bowling, being active in several different leagues. He was an avid MSU fan and enjoyed going to and supporting local sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Ransom and Ruth H. Rogers, his brother, Richard Ransom. Surviving are: his wife of 56 years, Patricia; his beloved cat, Sylvester, daughter, Angela Ransom, son-in-law, Neil Speerbrecker; sister, Susan (Tom) Wilson; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and many extended family members.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 19th at Mortensen Funeral Home, Central Lake Chapel at 2:00pm. A visitation will take place prior, at 1:00pm, up until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or to Central Lake AmVets Post #6986.
