Tondalei “Tonnie” Yvonne Sloan, 75, of Mancelona, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, with her beloved family at her side. She was born on December 22, 1950, in Boyne City, the daughter of Carl and Fredine (Vanzant) Jolly.
Tonnie graduated from Boyne City High School. She eventually planted her roots in Mancelona where she raised her four children. Tonnie’s number one priority was taking care of them; she also babysat for many other children in the community over the years. Tonnie’s faith was also something that was extremely important to her and she took any chance she could to help those around her. She taught Sunday School for many years, spreading the good news to the next generation. Her favorite bible verse was John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life".
In her free time, Tonnie spent as much time with her grandkids as she possibly could, and she cherished every moment with them. She was an avid crafter and a frequent shopper at Hobby Lobby. Every Christmas she would make an ornament for every child, grandchild, and family pet, and send them to them no matter where they lived. She also enjoyed rock hunting, tending to her flower & vegetable gardens, and watching Hallmark movies and sitcoms.
Tonnie is survived by her four children, Randy (Beth) Laundre, Nichole (Dan) Franckowiak, Meaghan (Dustyn) McCaslin, and Kristina Sloan (Patrick Keck); three stepchildren and their families; two brothers, Bud (Sherri) Jolly and Spike (Cathy) Jolly; three sisters, Linda Wasilew, Brenda (Scott) Brown, and Sue Erickson; fourteen grandchildren, Amanda (Scott), Randi (Lyle), Brett (fiancé Travis), Jessi, Tim (Sarah), Taylor (Darrel), Taryn (Sean), Jacob, Jackson, Danielle, Wyatt, Rylee, Kinley, and Kaden; 10 great-grandchildren Wyatt (Amanda), Easton, Kolsen, Wesley, Ember (Brett), Story, Peyton(Tim), Aiden, Jesse (Taylor) and Darrel; and her beloved Shiatsu, Hollie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Gayle Davis.
A celebration of Tondalei’s life will take place in the spring or summer of 2026. Details will be announced as they are made available.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mancelona Food Pantry, PO Box 252, Mancelona, MI 49659.
