TJ Potter

Timothy John "TJ" Potter, 28 of Central Lake, died July 1, 2023 at home.  He was born April 17, 1995 the son of Nick Potter Sr. and Amy Tackett.

   As a kid he enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together too. He enjoyed playing football and graduated from Central Lake High School in 2013.  In 2015 he graduated from Ohio Tech with a degree in motorcycle and small engine repair.  He enjoyed working in mechanics and could fix just about any car problem.  One of his proudest moments was successfully rebuilding and being able to ride his dads Harley Davidson. TJ could often be found canoeing the Jordan River and spending time with his dogs.

   Surviving are his mother Amy (Tom) Tackett of Lansing, sisters Teressa (Brian) Potter, Melinda (Jed) McDaniel, Mary Potter, Jessica (Bobby) Potter, Katie Potter, brother Nick Potter all of Central Lake, brother Logan Zuidema of Orlando, FL, maternal grandmother Gloria Tackett of East Jordan, uncles Rodney (Kayla) Tackett & Justin (Jennifer) Larrison, aunt Darline Wilson, uncles Jim (Cindy) Potter,  Tim (Lori) Potter, Nate (Hope) Wolverton, nieces and nephews Shantel, Trevor, Sienna, Alexis, Mackenzie, Jaiden, Trenton, Emily, Mason, Austin, Brendon, Hayden, Addison, Oakland, Teegan and Laiho.  

   TJ was preceded in death by his father Nick in 2014, grandfather Estill Tackett, and grandmother Janet Wolverton, uncle Fred (Wayne) Potter.

   A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 7 at 5 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:30 until the time of service.  He will be interred with his father in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake.
