TJ Christiansen will be remembered for the light he brought into the lives of those who knew and loved him. His presence, kindness, and unique spirit left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.
TJ passed from this life into the next on June 23, 2026 in Durham, North Carolina. He was born on July 15, 1981 to David and Julie Christiansen. He was a 2000 graduate of Charlevoix High School. Went on the get his teaching degree at Western University and was currently serving as a High School Career and Technical teacher at Apex High School in Apex North Carolina.
TJ had a way of making moments meaningful, whether through laughter, conversation, quiet support, or simply being himself. He was an artist, created sculptures that capture the true beauty of the wild animals that make up our planet. He created many wooden pieces along with his iron sculptures. His love of nature and woodworking came from his father and grandfather. His laughter, zest for life, fun antics and creative spirit will be
remembered by his students, family and all those who knew him.
Though his time here was far too short, TJ’s memory will continue to live on through his boys, Remy and Carter, who were the light of his life.
TJ is survived by his sons, Remy and Carter and his ex-wife Jordan, His parents David and Julie Christiansen, brother and sister-in-law Brian and Jill Christiansen.
A private service will be held at a later date.
