Timothy J. Shafer

Timothy J. Shafer Sr., 78, of Central Lake, passed away on December 23, 2025.

   Tim was born on October 31, 1947 in Ypsilanti, MI the son of Earl and Lucille (Towler) Shafer.

   He was a carpenter most of his life and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

   Tim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

   On December 17, 1994, in Central Lake, he married Mary Niepoth who survives.

   Also surviving are 3 children, Timothy Jr. (Lory) Shafer of Central Lake, Jennifer (Chuck) Emery of Traverse City, Thomas (Christina) Charbonneau of East Jordan, 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

   Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers, Earl, Chuck and Jamie Shafer as well as a sister Lucy Shafer.

   No services are planned.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Amvets, 1840 S. Main St., Central Lake, MI,  49622.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
