Thomas Jay Dodge Jr., age 68, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2026.

Born on November 6, 1957, Tom was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who was deeply loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was a passionate NASCAR fan and fishing enthusiast, and took great pride in his years working in the oil field. He also loved cooking meals and gathering around the table with the people he loved most.

Tom never met a stranger. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went and was known by people everywhere for his kindness, humor, and welcoming spirit. He had a gentle soul that could brighten any room he entered, and his love and loyalty to those around him will never be forgotten.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Dodge Sr.; his mother, Katie Hicks; his father Bill Hicks; and brothers Earnie Hicks David Dodge.

He is survived by his children, Darcy Novak, Chauncey J. Mix, Juliana Walker, and Samantha Dodge; his grandchildren, Kila Jacobson, Ethan Novak, Trenton Novak, Karissa Novak, Lynn Willinger, Wyatt Willinger, and Chauncey D. Mix; his great-grandchild, Aleigha Bullins; and his siblings, Debi Barber, Rich Dodge, Terry Dodge, Gerald Dodge, Doug Hicks, Sandra Barber, Mike Hicks, Bill Hicks, and Barbra Barber.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on June 14, 2026 at 1:00pm, at Antrim Meadows Campground in Mancelona, Michigan.
