THEODORE D. PIERCE 85, of Central Lake, died Tuesday, December 27, 2006 at home. Ted was born June 20, 1921 in Central Lake, the son of Dee and Cecil (Dickerson) Pierce. He served in the US Army and the US Navy during WWII and was a charter member of the Torch Post VFW #6985. He was also a member of the Central Lake and Grand Rapids Masonic Lodge and commander of the Grand Rapids Power Squadron. He worked as an engineer for the Lear Siegler Corporation of Grand Rapids for many years and returned to Central Lake after retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, boating and his grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marcella, his second wife Colleen, a brother Russ and a sister Mary Scott. Surviving are a daughter Judy Moblo of North Carolina, a stepdaughter Sherry Verdier of Grand Rapids, three grandchildren Shelly, Kelly and Sean, six great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews, Cindy Bloom, Barb Staph, Tedd Pierce, Leland Scott, and many other relatives. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Two p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, under the auspices of the Central Lake Masonic Lodge and the Torch Post VFW.
