Sylvia Ann Read

Sylvia A. Read,  81, of Echo Township, passed away on February 16, 2024.

   She was born on January 4, 1943, in Port Huron, MI, the daughter of Eugene and Anna (Dorward) Hancock.

   Sylvia was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a charter member of the Ellsworth Lioness Club and loved crocheting, reading and watching soaps.

   Surviving are 2 children, Eleanor (Dennis) Richards of East Jordan, Robert (Lynessa) Morris of Mapleton, UT, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-children, Kurt Read, Paul Read and Rene Sterrett.

   Preceding her in death were her husband Francis "Frank" Read, 3 siblings, David Hancock, Eugene Hancock, Cynthia Calhoun as well as her parents.

    No services are planned at this time.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
