Sharon (Woodra) Hoffman

Sharon Hunter (Woodra) Hoffman, 77, died peacefully at home in Charlevoix, Michigan, on September 17, 2026, after a battle with ovarian cancer.

Sharon leaves behind her beloved husband, Kent Hoffman, and her much-loved and spoiled dog, Walker.

Sharon was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her stepchildren, Kelly Hoffman and Eric Hoffman (Angela), her step-grandchildren, Shelby (Brad) Ives, Chris Fishell (Heather), Caitlyn (Tyler) Raether, and Eam Hoffman. Kent and Sharon were delighted to see their family grow with six great-grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Woodra. During their marriage, Sharon became stepmother to Lauren Chappell (Todd), Eric Woodra (Kim), and Erin Merckx (Pete). She was a beloved Grandma Sharon to Kaylee, Kendall, Drew, Riley, Kennedy, Robyn, and Eric.

Sharon did many things behind the scenes to make life special for her family, especially at Christmas. Her thoughtfulness and generosity created memories that her family will treasure for years to come.

Sharon leaves behind her dear sister, Patricia Rosol, and her family, including Renee Chappelle and Marty Rosol, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Sharon was born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Dearborn. She graduated from the University of Michigan summa cum laude in 1971 and loved her challenging career in information technology. Over the course of her career, she worked for Manufacturers National Bank, General Motors, EDS, Compuware, and Ford.

Sharon treasured her years with Kent. They retired shortly after marrying and spent their retirement creating a home together in Charlevoix. They lovingly renovated their Lake Michigan home and made it their perfect home, creating many beautiful memories as they travelled near and far.

Sharon also treasured her friendships. She loved playing Mahjong with her friends and enjoyed her time with her pool friends at the Charlevoix Area Community Pool, where she served on the board.

Sharon had a wonderful life, filled with family, friendships, travel, meaningful work, and love. A celebration of Sharon's life, in the form of a cocktail party, will be held at Weathervane Restaurant, 106 Pine River Lane in Charlevoix on October 10th from 2 to 5.
