Scott M. Ray,  28, of Mancelona, passed away unexpetedly on May 30, 2023.

   Scott was born on February 15, 1995, in Traverse City, the son of Tanya Kasper and Scott Ray.

   His first love was his son Jayden as well as his entire family.   They all always came first, no matter what he had going on in his life.   He always spent as much time with his nieces and nephews as he could.   He was truly that "fun" uncle.

   Scott loved the outdoors, especially swimming, horseshoes and going to dirt track races.   His favorite racer was his uncle Kevin.

   Surviving are his son Jayden, his mother, Tanya (David) Nason of Lake City, his father, Scott (Tina) Ray of Mancelona, 5 sisters, Mariah Holland, Kaitlyn (Logan) Catron of Mancelona, Destiney Ray of Mancelona,  Honesty Ray of Lake City, and Faith Ray  of Mancelona, maternal grandmother Jacquelline Vosburgh of Hope, MI, maternal grandfather, Tom (Cindy) Kasper of Jenison, paternal grandmother, Phyllis Young of Mancelona, 6 nieces, Ava, Scarlett, Delilah, Ariella, Ezra and Aria, 2 nephews, Liam and Oliver, maternal aunts and uncles, Rosemary (Russell) Yardley of Boyne City, Scott Kasper of Oklahoma City, OK, Brian Vosburgh of Central Lake, and paternal uncles, Rodger William Ray Jr. of Kansas City, MO and Kevin Ray of Mancelona.

   Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfathers, Rodger William Ray and Robert Cary Young as well as his paternal uncle Robert Cary Young Jr.

   Services will be private with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona Township.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
