Sandra Ann Hartnett-Allard

Nine children and many years later, Sandra Timm, known to all of you as Sandy, joined her husband, Daniel Hartnett, in the hands of our Lord.  Sandy came a long way from Herbert Hoover Jr. High and Elementary in Lincoln Park, Michigan.  Wanting to pursue a career as an airline stewardess, Sandy’s small but determined stature led her instead to banking.  Little did Sandy know that she would spend the rest of her life in beautiful Northern Michigan.

After graduating from Farmington High School and working in downtown Detroit, Sandy came to Charlevoix in 1978 and began her banking career at Charlevoix County State Bank in 1977.  After the death of her husband, Daniel and her remarriage to Fritz Allard,  Sandy spent a good part of her career as Branch Officer and Manager at the M-66 Office of CB North.

Although we may no longer physically see Sandy, we believe she has left an indelible mark on all of us lucky enough to have known her.  As a mother and grandmother, not only did she provide for her own family but she also cared for those who had no one else to turn to.  Sandy would want us to remember her with a smile rather than tears.  She would want us to find comfort in knowing that she is home with her Heavenly Father and her family and friends gone before.  We will miss her sense of humor, her contagious smile and her love of life.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Rosemary Timm and her brother, David.  Sandy is survived by her nine children, thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one brother.  She is also survived by many special nephews, nieces, cousins and cherished friends.

A funeral mass will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix with Fr. Peter Wigton officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30.  Sandra will be laid to rest in Ellsworth Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Charlevoix Area Community Pool, Charlevoix Area Community Pool, Charlevoix Historical Society, Charlevoix Historical Society and/or St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary of the Assumption.
