Sally Grutsch

Sally D. (Brooks) Grutsch, 62, of East Jordan, passed away on October 2, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Sally was born on July 27, 1958, in Charlevoix, the daughter of William and Jacqueline (Simpson) Brooks.

She was a long time health care employee working as an RN as well as an EMT.

She liked  crocheting, genealogy research, collecting jewelry and most importantly spending time with her 5 grandchildren.

Sally was a true “giver” in every sense of the word.  Not only a giver of gifts and presents but a giver of love.   She was very proud of her 3 sons for making Eagle Scout.

On June 25, 1977, in East Jordan, she married Thomas N. Grutsch who survives.  Also surviving are 4 children, Seth Grutsch of Gaylord, Shawn (Lisa) Grutsch of Gaylord, Rebekah Grutsch of Cheboygan, Alexander Grutsch of Gaylord, 5 grandchildren, Gideon, William, Elizabeth, Josiah, Micah, a brother, Fred (Cindy) Brooks of Norwood, a sister Virginia (Brad) Petrie of East Jordan and 2 aunts, Elizabeth Hoffman of Charlevoix and Elizabeth Frey of Westland, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hastings Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Graveside services will  take place on Saturday, October 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Antrim City Cemetery, Banks Twp. (off Old Dixie Highway)

Memorial contributions may be made to Jordan Valley EMS Authority, 555 Maple St., East Jordan, MI,  49727.

Arrangements are being handled by the Hastings Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
