Russell Norman West Sr.

Russell Norman West Sr. 86 of Eastport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, January 31, 2023.  He was born July 17, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio the son of Harold and Lillian (Grone) West.

   After graduating high school Russ proudly served in the US Army.  He was a dedicated employee and worked many years as the manager of a bank in Toledo, OH, finishing his career as the manager of a wholesale window contractor.

   Russ moved his family to northern Michigan in 1976 settling in Eastport.  He enjoyed Wednesday lunch with his guy friends and spending time with his family.  Most days you could find Russ talking about golf, playing golf, or watching golf on TV as he was very passionate about his golf.

   He is survived by his children Russell Jr. (Laura) West of Manistee, Michael (Janet) West of the Villages, FL, Karen Cage of Eastport, grandchildren Kara (Chris Underwood, Parker West, Zach West, Wyatt West, Karson Cage, Keaton Cage, Briggs Cage, great grandchildren TyShaun Underwood, Ayden West, Rainey West, Remmington West, Lukas West, dearest friend and special companion Charlotte Lundy, and son in law Jeff Cage.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Peggy, grandson Porter Cage, and 3 siblings.

   Graveside services will be held this spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife.
