Rose Ella Stout

Rose Ella Stout, 82, of Elk Rapids, passed away March 13, 2023.

She was born to Evart and Ruth (Thomas) Long on March 3, 1941, in Pontiac Township, Michigan.

Rose was a veterinarian assistant and bank teller.  In her early years she enjoying motorcycling, and traveling.  She was an active member at the Elk Rapids Senior center. 

In her downtime she enjoyed sewing, and quilting.  She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, especially euchre.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Stout, and parents.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Stout, of Holly, Michigan, Jodie (Rick) Rivera of San Diego, California, and Kimberly (Brad) VanderArk, of Ellsworth, Michigan; brother, Denny (Trudy) Long of Pontiac, Michigan and sister, Carol (Robert) Kayser of Longs, South Carolina; grandchildren, Kristin, Rico, Ben, Gerrit, Sarah, Ella, and Wesley; great granddaughter, Amelia, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held March 28th from 10 am until 1 pm at the Elk Rapids Senior Center, 143 N Charles St., Elk Rapids, 49629.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society in Rose’s honor.

Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
