Rodger Horner

Rodger Dale Horner, 67, of Bellaire, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones.  He was born on June 1, 1956, in Detroit, the son of Andy and Gladys (Mobley) Horner.

Rodger lived in Northern Michigan for many years, at first South of Kalkaska, and in Bellaire for the last 10 years.  He was a long-time member of the Church of God in Kalkaska.  He enjoyed shopping, boating, and cooking.

Rodger is survived by his three children, Karen (Dave) Wilks of Bellaire, David (Barb) Horner of VA, and Heather (Mike) Powers of VA; his sister, Sharon Waterbury; his step daughter Charlene Bean-Bridson, his step daughter-in-law, Tonya Bean of TN; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Doyle “Wayne” Horner; his great-granddaughter Oaklynn Hill; his stepson, Ronald Bean; his niece, Sheila Runyon; and his nephew, Marc Waterbury.

A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with David Morrison Jr. officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00.
