Roderick N. Alexander

Roderick “Rod” Alexander,  81, of Mancelona, passed away on April 16, 2026.

   He was born on July 31, 1944, in Mancelona, the son of Eunice Alexander.

   Rod was born and raised in Mancelona and owned and operated a sign business for many years.   He was a proud father and grandfather, family was the most important thing in his life.

   Surviving are 4 daughters, Amanda Leonard-Silvercrow (Val Silvercrow) of Fife Lake, MI, Mystical (Justin) Calo of Grayling, Krystal Alexander of Alma, MI, Starlette Alexander of Mancelona, 4 step-children, David and DeShanna Emmendorfer, Shawn and Eric Truax,  many grandchildren, Emileigh Leonard, Frank Leonard IV, Zachary Leonard, Meaghan Lynne Collins, David Reaume, Isaac Reaume, Malaysia Reaume, Michael Underwood, Jordan Yorch, Jazlynn Yorch, Robbie Hines, Hannah Navarre, Maleigha Alexander, Roderick Skye Alexander, step-grandchildren, Shylah Emmendorfer, Hayle Rasho, Lacey Rasho, Jarred Moody, Haidyn Bissell, Bryn Bissell, Madison, Aries, and Eden Emmendorfer, his ex-wife whom he remained very involved with Shannon Adams, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

   Preceding him in death were 3 brothers, Gil, Gary and Norman, 2 step-daughters Nina Emmendorfer, Michelle Truax, and his parents.

   Funeral services will be on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

   Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona Township.

   Visitation will be from 12 noon until beginning of services on Friday.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
