Robert “Bob” Sladick Jr., age 66, of Boyne City, passed away on October 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on 10-25-1959 to Robert and Dorothy Sladick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Sladick; his brothers, Ronald Sladick and Daniel Sladick; and his brother-in-law, Dave Bader.
He is survived by his five children, Peter (Stacy) Sladick, Ehren (Olivia) Sladick, Briana (Shawn) Ricker, Isaiah (Nicole) Sladick, and Simon Sladick; his nine beloved grandchildren, Noah, Evelyn, Sutton, Holden, Leighton, Lawson, Madison, Emily, and Carter; his sister, Pam Bader; his nephews, Josh (Myndi) Bader and Jake (Ashley) Bader; his great nieces and nephew, Aubree, Lucas, and Olivia.
His family was his pride and joy, and he will be forever loved and deeply missed by all who knew him. He was incredibly proud of his five children and nine grandchildren, who brought so much love and joy to his life. His family meant the world to him, and the love he had for them was one of the things that defined him most.
He had a love for sports and the outdoors, much like his father. In his younger years, he played baseball in high school, he was an avid first baseman and enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball and basketball in Ludington. His passion for sports stayed with him throughout the years.
He had a huge heart and a gift for connecting with people. He loved without judgment and enjoyed talking with anyone and everyone. There was never a dull moment when he was around. His big heart and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Simon’s Catholic Church in Ludington.
Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
