Robert O. Morgner

Robert Otto Morgner Jr, 78 of Central Lake, passed away Dec. 18, 2022 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.  He was born June 3, 1944 in Norwood, MA, the son of Robert Sr. and Doris (Johnson) Morgner.

    Bob graduated from GMI and worked for General Motors, retiring after 38 years of dedicated service.  He was active in Rotary International and several conservation groups including Ducks Unlimited.  He enjoyed bird hunting, training dogs, and the outdoors in general.  He also enjoyed playing golf and all types of classic cars.  Bob was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Central Lake since moving north from Lake Orion in 2002.

   Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Cynthia Ann Strauss.  Also surviving are his children Sarah Beth (Keith) Scherer of Clarkston, Robert Otto Morgner III of Clarkston, grandchildren Jeffrey Daniel (Katelyn) Morgner of Waterford, Jackson Robert Morgner of Clarkston, Elia Marie Morgner of Clarkston, sister Linda (Albert) Hofmeister, Karl (Sue) Morgner, John (Marcia) Morgner, and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents.

   A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held Saturday, January 14th at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Central Lake.  Memorial contributions can be given to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.
