Robert A. Fletcher

Robert "Bob" Fletcher, 67 of Williamsburg and formerly of Torch Lake, died peacefully, May 24, 2024, at home.  He was born Aug. 31, 1956, in Coral Gables, Florida, the son of Lewis and Dorothy (Long) Fletcher.

Lived a full life, cherishing friendships and caring for those he encountered - He was a private man, but his friends meant everything to him and they were varied and from many walks of life.

He Worked in medical sales for a time and following that was the beloved UPS delivery driver in downtown TC. Later, he lovingly cared for his mom, Dorothy, in their home on Torch Lake in the years preceding her death.

Bob loved sports and especially loved to sail, water ski, and golf.  He loved his Cadillac and its great stereo system, and would drive around for fun with music blaring - Motown oldies being some of his favorites! Bob had a contagious smile and always a kind word for those he encountered. He loved astronomy, numbers, Petoskey stones, colleting coins, and all things science - he always had the "scoop" on a new discovery, drug, or other invention and was anxious to share his knowledge.

Bob possessed a deep love of country. He drove to Arlington Cemetery in Washington DC many Christmases to visit the grave of his father, Lt. Colonel Lewis A. Fletcher who is buried there.

He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him as a brother, uncle, and friend.
