Ricky "Rick" McCulloch

Ricky “Rick” Adrian McCulloch, 67, of Alden, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Kalkaska Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 13, 1958, in Clare, the son of Larry and Jo Ann (Blades) McCulloch.

Rick grew up in Beaverton, and moved up north to Alden in the 70’s. On November 20, 1976, in Edenville, he married the love of his life, Deborah Palka. Rick owned and operated Tri-County Sand & Gravel for many years with his brother Greg. When he wasn’t on the road, he could often be found working on things around the pit and spending time on his equipment. He also liked mowing the lawn on his tractor with a cold beer in hand. In his younger days, he enjoyed snowmobiling, but he always enjoyed riding anything that went fast.

Rick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah McCulloch; his daughter, Katrina (Kurt) Doss; his brother, Greg McCulloch; his sister, Sheryl (Charlie) Eagle; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Kathy Killian.

His family will celebrate his life privately at a later date.
