RICHARD PILON 76, of Rapid City, passed on to his next life's journey on Nov. 27, 2007 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Richard was born on June 25, 1931 in Wells, Michigan, the son of Alfred and Helen (Dean) Pilon. Richard resided in the Rapid City area since 1955 where he was a Boy Scout leader, a member of the Rapid City school board and was an assistant fire chief of the Alden Fire Department. He owned Way's Market at Torch River for several years and then on to work for Teter Orthopedics in Traverse City before retiring in 1994. He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting coins, woodworking and fishing. He is survived by two daughters, Bridget (Blain) Russell of Rapid City, Nancy (Glenn) Peal of Rapid City, a former daughter-in-law Carol Pilon Ghastin of Traverse City, a brother Earl Pilon of Fife Lake, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Bruce Pilon, two brothers Robert and Alfred Jr. and former wife, Gisela Pilon Koloski. Private family services will take place. Interment will be in the Helena Township Cemetery in Alden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
