Retiring from medical school classes at GW to find a job vs medical school with a growing family. Joan was a registered nurse from Cleveland, Ohio and working in Washington DC. Soon, in 1956, Richard would retire from the Navy. He and Joan would move to settle in Richmond, Virginia where they would each find new jobs and grow their family. Learning together as they grew their family and Catholic Faith at St Mary’s Church, Farmington Virginia, a suburb of Richmond.
