Phyllis D. Hoogerhyde

Phyllis D. Hoogerhyde,  57, of Alba, passed away on August 9, 2026.

   She was born on September 17, 1968, in Sterling Heights, MI, the daughter of John and Marilee (Hein) Patson.

   While growing up, Phyliss played basketball and graduated from Johannesburg-Lewiston HIgh School.   She also enjoyed spending time with her father, hunting, fishing and even helping him at work.

   She enjoyed gardening and playing softball,  spent 30 years on the Star Township Fire Department and most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

   On June 21, 1997, in Alba, she married Pete Hoogerhyde who survives.

   Also surviving are 4 children, Daryn (Anna) Hoogerhyde of Alba, John (Laura) Pawson of Higgins Lake, MI, Chris (Katie) Pawson of Charlevoix, Gary (Alyssia) Pawson of Charlevoix, her father John Patson of Lewiston, 4 grandchildren, Adriana, Sutton, Lilly, Aurora, as well as a 2 nieces, Alexis Patson, Aleasha Schuch, and a nephew Trevor Schuch, her in laws, Pete (Linda) Hoogerhyde and a sister-in-law Anita (Mike) Skowronski.

   She was preceded in death by her mother Marilee Patson.

   A Celebration of her Life will be Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alba High School Gymnasium with visitation from 12 noon until beginning of service.

   Sam McClellan will officiate.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the Antrim County Commission on Aging.

   Arrangements are in the care of the the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen  Funeral Homes.
