Pearl Aletha Peters

Pearl Aletha Peters, 82, of Mancelona, passed away on September 9, 2022 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Pearl was born October 17, 1939, in Rogers City, the daughter of Basil and Aletha (Howe) Kerr.

Pearl married Russell Peters on April 8, 1961 at the Mancelona United Methodist Church. They would go on to have three children and 59 wonderful years together. Pearl loved to spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed family get togethers at the cabin. You could quite often find Pearl outside, whether it was mushroom hunting, picking berries, or camping. She was a skilled baker and was always up for a trip to the casino.

Pearl is survived in death by her three children, Kim Peters of Mancelona, Mike (Jean) Peters of Mancelona, and Chuck (Theresa) Peters of Mancelona; brother Lyle Kerr of Mancelona, sister Patricia Dykhouse of Mancelona, Sister-in-law Sally Peters of Sweetwater, Texas, Brother-in-law James LaBrecque of Mancelona, several nieces and nephews.

Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Russell, and sister Mary Lou.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
