Pauline Coon

PAULINE L. COON 86, of Alba, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Aspen Ridge Assisted Living in Gaylord. She was born on July 29, 1920 in Flint, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Lindley) Christler. Pauline was a resident of Alba since 1952 where she was an active member of the Alba United Methodist Church and was the postmistress for the Alba Post Office for 23 years. Prior to her employment at the post office she worked for Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan as well as the State Hospital in Gaylord. On August 1, 1949 in Angola, IN., she married Mitchell Coon who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Ray Aldrich of Cleveland, OH., Rodney (Susie) Aldrich of Brighton, Ruth Ann Gates of Mancelona, and Jackie Wcisel of Gaylord, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Dawn Aldrich, a grandson Randy Aldrich, a son Rex Aldrich and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at One p.m. at the Alba United Methodist Church. Rev. Kathy Steen will officiate. Visitation will take place on Friday, Dec. 1 from 4-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alba United Methodist Church, A.C. Paws or to Hospice of Michigan.
