Patricia Louise Marshall, 80, of Charlevoix, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 31, 1945, in Glendale, CA, the daughter of Douglas and Barbara (Hawkins) Remy.
Pat graduated from Bloomfield Hills High School in 1963, and went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Education from Michigan State University. In 1967, she married her Jr. high school sweetheart, Jon Marshall, and they eventually settled in Novi where they raised two children. They had both summered in Charlevoix growing up and had always dreamed of making it their home. They made their dreams reality by purchasing a cottage on Lake Michigan. They made the permanent move in 1990 and built a new home on the property in 1991. She worked as a sales associate at several shops in Charlevoix over the years: Mettlers, J. Phillips, Shop of the Gulls, and Nautica.
Pat had a kind, generous soul, and was just as creative as she was funny. She was always there when someone needed her and she was a wonderful friend to many. She enjoyed many trips all over the US and around the world with her friends and family. She always liked crafting and painting with acrylics, especially in her later years. Pat was an avid reader, an amazing cook, and loved tending to her flower gardens.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband, Jon Marshall; two children Traci (Dan) Lum of Spring Arbor, and Todd (Tonya) Marshall of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Breanna, and Bethany; and her brother, Paul (Sue) Remy of Sarasota, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Pat's life will take place at a later date. If interested, memorial contributions can be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
