Otto Hinzmann

OTTO G. HINZMANN 89 of Torch Lake Twp., died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Otto was born September 21, 1917 in Detroit the son of Otto and Caroline (Roberts) Hinzmann. He worked for the Michigan Employment Security Commission for 38 years, retiring in 1983 as district manager of 26 counties. He attended Wayne State University and served in the US Army during WWII. He also attended the Elk Rapids United Methodist Church. He moved to Torch Lake Twp. in 1984 from Harbor Springs. On June 26, 1942 in Detroit he married Lorraine E. Ewald who survives. Also surviving are five children, Shann L. (Timothy) Louis of Kewadin, Otto G. (Patricia) of Northville, Harry A. (Barbara) of Traverse City, Frederic J. (MaryAnn) of Atwood, Mark J. (Renee) of Dearborn, one brother Gordon A. (Virginia) of Rochester, MN, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2007 at Eleven a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, Pastor William Chu officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Twp.
