Nomis Mol

Nomis Jeane Mol, 91, of Charlevoix, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2021 at Medilodge of Traverse City.  She was born on May 28, 1930 in Reed City, MI, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Holmes) Ringler.

On September 17, 1950, Nomis married Jack Mol in Reed City.  Shortly thereafter they returned to Charlevoix to raise their family.  Nomis worked at First State Bank – now Charlevoix State Bank – for many years before she retired.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Charlevoix, and a long-time member for the Garden Club of Charlevoix.  She also enjoyed gardening at home as well as tending to her hobby farm, making sure to keep it mowed and cleaned up in the spring.  She loved to travel; she had been to Greece, Italy, New Zealand, to name a few, and she also wintered in Bradenton, FL for many years.

Nomis is survived by her three children, Mike William (Kristine) Mol of Immigrant, MT, Terry Lee (Judy) Mol of Charlevoix, and Shari Louise (Doug) Huyser of Belmont, MI; and four grandchildren, Emily Mol, Mark Mol, Katherine Huyser, and Allison Huyser.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jack Mol; her son Donald Gordon Mol; two brothers, Delos Ringler and Donald Ringler; and her beloved Blond Cocker Spaniel, Abby.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Rev. Toby Jones officiating.  Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Area Humane Society, 614 Beardsley Street, Boyne City, MI 49712.

Arrangements are in the care of the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
