Neva Ann MarconeriJune 27, 1941 – August 25, 2026

Neva Ann Marconeri, 85, of St. James City, FL, formerly from Mancelona, MI passed away on August 25, 2026, at Health Park Medical Center, Fort Myers, FL.

Neva was born and raised in Mancelona Michigan and graduated from Mancelona High School in 1959. After graduation, Neva worked as a secretary for Harry T. Cook, Prosecuting Attorney for Antrim County, MI. While still working as a secretary, Neva purchased the Mancelona Dairy Queen, at twenty years of age. She operated it for 59-years, from 1961 to 2020 as the Dairy Queen and in the last few years as the Dairy Delite. Neva retired in 2020. For most of a century, if you grew up in Mancelona, you knew her ice cream window. She was married to Vito Marconeri on April 27, 1968, and they jointly operated the Mancelona Dairy Queen and for several years one in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

She also hired many, many high school students, one summer at a time. Her rule was simple: “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean”. She taught them to show up, work hard, and finish the job. Neva was incredibly supportive of youth growing up in Mancelona and especially those that needed assistance. She had a big heart for those needing help with a job or with life issues.

Neva was a steadfast and staunch supporter of the Mancelona community. She gave ice cream to the kids marching in the parades and to the ball teams after their games. She sponsored the White Pine Stampede, the Bass Festival, the Easter egg hunts, and a local bowling team. She served on the Mancelona Chamber of Commerce in nearly every capacity it had and helped found the Downtown Development Authority. She was an advocate and promoter about her town and about shopping local, and Mancelona is still better for it.

Neva loved to cook, bake, can and freeze fruits, vegetables and produce as many natural foods as she could. She was always eager to play board and card games or dominos. Neva wintered in Florida and eventually moved to Florida, but Mancelona was always home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vito Marconeri, and her parents, John Sr., Dorothy (Watkins) Korr, sisters Mary Paulette Korr, Carol Ann (Korr) Pratt, brother-in law Mark Jacobs, nephew Neil Baker, niece Stephanie Jacobs.

She is survived by her siblings: John Jr. and Janet (Means) Korr, Kathryn (Korr) Bonner and Fred Bonner, Teresa Korr, Patricia (Korr) Jacobs, and Connie (Korr) Trudeau; and by nieces and nephews; Micheal and Kate Korr, Kristin (Korr) and Ken Morrison, Erin Bonner, Melissa (Bonner) and Brent Bergeron, Steven and Dawn (Hart) Baker, Shannon Pratt, Katlyn Pratt, Sarah Grace, Sonya Jacobs,

Erica (Jacobs) and Chaunte Gunn, Jessica Trudeau, Justin and Cierra (Bailey) Trudeau, Gina Hart, Gordon Hart, and many great nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service to be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona, MI on Friday November 6, 11:00 A.M.

Neva will be laid to rest in the Mancelona Fairview Cemetery (North), alongside her Husband Vito Marconeri.
