Mildred "Polly" Stall

Mildred M. Stall, lovingly called Polly, was the only daughter of Nellie and Gilbert Stark of Green River, MI, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Gilbert Stark, and her husband, Robert W. Stall of Mancelona.

Mildred is survived by her four daughters, Jean (Michael) Marmo, Jane (James) Keller, Robin Stall, and Barbara (Scott) Davenport; five grandchildren, Karl Davenport, Addison Davenport, Marion (Matthew) Mathisen, Jennifer (Shawn) Fletcher, and Robert (Beth) Marmo; and three beloved great-grandchildren, Sofie Davenport and Lauren and Reilly Fletcher.

Mildred worked during high school at Mr. Gardner’s Drugstore in Mancelona.  After high school, she worked as a telephone operator in East Jordan and Madison, WI.  Polly was devoted to her family.  She loved to paint.  She wrote and illustrated a storybook for her children.  After marriage, Polly and Robert moved to New Jersey where they raised their family.  After Bob’s passing, Polly moved back to Mancelona to care for her parents.  Polly ran a bed and breakfast in her home for many years.  She loved meeting people.  We wish to thank the staff at the Eden Center in Kalkaska for taking care of our mother.  We will miss her deeply but are comforted to know she is at peace with her late husband and parents.

Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
