Melvin L. McDonald

Melvin L. McDonald,  59, of the Bellaire and Mancelona areas, passed away on August 31, 2026.

   Mel was born on October 27, 1966, in Traverse City, the son of Clayton and Grace (Moore) McDonald.

   He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, cooking, animals and most of all spending time with his family.

   Surviving are his significant other Rebecca Francis of Mancelona, 4 children, Courtney McDonald of Midland, MI, Grace McDonald of Green Bay, WI, Julie Runyon of Mancelona, Kiesha Fuller of East Jordan, 12 grandchildren, a sister Linda Allemaker, 2 half sisters, Florence and Melissa, 4 half brothers, Eli, Denny, Dwayne and Harold, many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved dogs Sheba and Taz LeRoy.

   Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 brothers, a sister and 2 granddaughters.

   The family will hold a Celebration of his Life in the future.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
