Mary Dziedzic

Mary Alice "Monnie" Vreeland Dziedzic, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Monnie was born on March 31, 1929 in Flat Rock, MI.

On New Year’s Eve, 1951, Monnie met “the one” and ten months later, she married Eugene Andrew (Gene) Dziedzic, on October 25, 1952. From the moment they met, they knew each other was “the one”. Gene and Monnie welcomed five children: Susan Wilcox, Lee Ann Overhiser (Robert Krueger), Neil and Susan Dziedzic, Laura Taylor (David), and Eric Dziedzic (Eric Fahrenkopf). Monnie is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Gene preceded her in death on July 15, 2009 after 56 years of marriage. During those years, they enjoyed time together playing cards and drinking “red pop” with great friends, and traveling throughout the country. They especially enjoyed Arizona in the winter months.

Monnie had an apartment at American House in Charlevoix for the past three years where she enjoyed daily activities and loved bingo, blackjack, and Wii bowling games with her Friends. We want to thank the staff at American House and AdvisaCare for their love and support of mom. She was well loved by all who knew her and loved them in return.

Visitation will take place at St Mary’s of Charlevoix at 4pm on Thursday, February 19th, followed by a funeral mass at 5pm. Burial will take place in the spring at St Mary’s Cemetery in Charlevoix.
