Martina Sutter

Martina Joan Sutter, 84, of Mancelona, passed away on September 16, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1941, in Mancelona, the daughter of Leslie and Vivian (Stratton) Spires.

Martina was a kind-hearted person by nature and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a friendly person and everyday she always made time for a walk down her road, waving and smiling at the neighbors who passed her by. She had a passion for shopping, reading, and gardening. Martina also liked spending time on her gazelle exercise machine.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Harry, her parents, and two brothers Samuel and Leslie Spires.

Surviving her in death are three children, Tanya (Marvin) Seaman of Alden, Todd (Christine) Sutter of Mancelona, Tari (John) Rogers of Alden, one brother, Richard (Jane) Spires of Alden, six sisters, Zila Healey of East Jordan, Gertrude (Kenneth) Westcott of Mancelona, Edna (Norman) Lanning of Mancelona, Sheryl (David) Miller of Mancelona, Bonnie (Jay) Wildfong of Mancelona, Jeanne (Eric) Hoogerhyde of Mancelona, five grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Melanie, Dylan, Brenden, five great-grandchildren, Kierstin, Hunter, Payton, Madelyn, Mira, three sister-in-laws, Helen Spires, Elaine Spires, Ruthie Sager.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, from 12-2pm at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona.
