Martha M. Barrett

Martha M. Barrett, 88, of West Branch, formerly of Alba, passed away on August 24, 2023.

   She was born on May 15, 1935, in Bellaire, the daughter of Thomas and Harriet (Green) Scott.

   Martha was a graduate of Alba High School and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies.   She enjoyed coloring, reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, following the news, cooking and most of all spending time with grandchildren.

   Surviving are 3 children, Daniel Morgan of Flint, Cathy Short of Whittemore, and James Kline of Prescott, 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

   Preceding her in death were 3 husbands, LaVerne Short Sr., Carl Kline Sr., Charlie Barrett, 3 sons, Carl Kline Jr., Kelvin Kline, LaVerne "Sonny" Short, a brother Thomas Scott Jr., and her parents.

Graveside services will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Star Township Cemetery in Alba.

   Memorial contributions may be made to any local animal shelter of donor's choice.

Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
