Mark Scott Gebhard

On Thursday, May 11, 2023, Mark S. Gebhard, beloved father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly. He was seventy years old. Born to Elizabeth and William Gebhard, Mark graduated from the University of Minnesota and spent his career in the auto industry working for American Motors, Jeep Corporation, and American Sunroof Corporation.  He ended his career as a member of the executive leadership team at ASC.  

Mark enjoyed his childhood summers working on his family’s dairy farm.  He had a life-long love of the outdoors and animals. Spending time camping, fishing, and boating with his family, canoeing in the Boundry Waters of Minnesota, and operating horse farms in Northern Michigan. Mark was an adventurer.  

Known for his kindness and heart, Mark enjoyed volunteering at the Ellsworth food pantry and church. He is survived by his children, Jacob and Kelly, his children’s mother, Christine Gebhard, and his seven grandchildren (Wren, Zachary, Zealand, Asher, Hudson, Aaden and Cooper).  The youngest of five, he is survived by his brother, Max, and sister, Marlene.  Mark’s love for his family was unconditional and undeniable. He will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Central Lake Pavilion on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 4 pm-6 pm.
