Marijoan "Midge" Gollob

Marijoan “Midge” Gollob, 81 passed away peacefully October 17, 2022.  Loving mother of Kathleen (Thomas) Zielecki of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Mauraleen (Christopher) Snabes of Charlevoix, Michigan.  Grandmother of Daniel and Lauren Zielecki and Nicholas, Alexandria and Blaise Snabes.  Aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband John, grandson Bryan Zielecki, brother Gerald Beier, and parents Alfred and Catherine Beier.

Midge was born October 20, 1940 in Detroit to the late Alfred and Catherine Beier.  Midge loved people and music. She always considered herself 100% Irish and enjoyed a shot of Bailey’s on St. Patrick’s Day.  She was a part of the “Belles of St. Mary’s” where she made lifelong friendships.  In her earlier days, she had been a Girl Scout leader, member of the St. Hilary Rosary Alter Society, and was on a long-time bowling league.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and she loved attending their many sporting events, spending time with them and watching them grow into wonderful adults.  Midge spent the last 5 ½ years in Boulder Park Nursing Home in Charlevoix where she charmed the staff with her spunk, kindness and sense of humor.

Mass of a Christian burial will be held Friday, October 21 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Aidan’s Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, with Fr. Kevin Thomas officiating and visitation starting at 9 a.m.  Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be given to Dementia Society of America, PO BOX 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
