Marijo Bradley, 75, of Mancelona, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born on December 21, 1950, in Bellaire, the daughter of Freeman and Jeanette (Taft) Bradley.
Marijo graduated from Mancelona High School in 1968, and jumped right into the work force. She worked at a factory in Traverse City for several years before moving to Grand Rapids, where she worked as a Hi-Lo driver and eventually became a foreman. In 2009, she moved back up north to Mancelona and drove a taxi in Traverse City for 10 years. She had all sorts of stories from her time both in the factories and driving cab.
In her younger days, Marijo enjoyed playing competitive softball in Grand Rapids. She also loved to watch the Detroit Tigers any time they were on. She was an animal whisperer and never met a dog that didn’t adore her – which may or may not have been because she always spoiled them. She was always up for a game of poker or any other card game people were willing to play. Marijo had a heart of gold and a sarcastic sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew her.
Marijo is survived by her sister, Vicki DeSmit; her brother, Gregory (June) Bradley; five cousins, Mike (Rhonda) Allen, Jeff (Becky) Geese, Brian Louks, Camille (Jim) Powers, and Todd (Linda) Chase; two nephews, Eric (Christina) Bradley, and Dale (Kathryn) Hesley; and a niece, Shelly (Joey) Wiley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her cousin, Jennifer Louks; and several aunts and uncles.
Marijo will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona in the spring.
Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
