Life Tribute for Margarita Oviedo Delgado

Margarita Oviedo Delgado was born on April 1, 1958, in the small community of Candelas, within the municipality of Jerécuaro, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. She was the beloved daughter of Juan Delgado and Juana Mondragón, who raised her with deep family values, faith, and a resilient spirit.

Margarita’s life was rooted in love—love for her family, her traditions, her land, and her faith. On July 27, 1980, in Jerécuaro, Mexico, she married the love of her life, Rosendo Oviedo. Together, they built a beautiful family and a legacy grounded in unity, hard work, and unwavering devotion.

Margarita is survived by her loving husband, Rosendo Oviedo, her mother Juana Mondragón, and many siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her children:

  • Olivia & Lambert Adams
  • Heberto (Bob) Oviedo
  • Pedro & Francesca Oviedo
  • Ruben Oviedo
  • Pablo Oviedo
  • Norma & Corey Phillips
  • Jesus & Samantha Oviedo
  • Daniel Oviedo

Her grandchildren—Alejandro Adams, Ricardo (Christy) Adams, Jasmin Adams, Anayanzin (Ana) Oviedo, Isabella (Bella) Oviedo, Luna Oviedo, Miguel Oviedo, Mateo Oviedo, Esmeralda Oviedo, Santiago Oviedo, and Elio Phillips—were her pride and joy. Her great‑grandchildren, Rafael Worrell and Everly Adams, brought her a renewed sense of happiness and tenderness.

She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Delgado, her brothers Jose Delgado and Samuel Delgado, and her sister Matilde Delgado de Oviedo.

A Life Filled with Heart

Margarita possessed a gentle strength and a nurturing soul. She found joy in simple, meaningful things—gardening, tending to her chickens and animals, and caring for her home. Cooking for her children and grandchildren brought her tremendous happiness, and her kitchen was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the unforgettable aromas of her cooking.

One of her greatest gifts was storytelling. She loved sharing memories, family history, and lessons through the stories she told. Her words brought comfort, humor, and connection to all who listened.

Margarita was deeply spiritual and carried her faith with grace. She approached life with optimism, even in difficult moments, and she rooted her family in tradition. Among her most cherished customs was making tamales at Christmas or New Year’s—a tradition her family will hold close forever.

Sundays were sacred to her. She cherished bringing the whole family together for dinner, creating a constant rhythm of unity, support, and love throughout the years.

A Place to Call Home

In November of 1999, Margarita and her family made their home in Ellsworth, Michigan—a place that became their true and lasting home. She embraced her community there with the same generosity and warmth she showed her family.
