Marcella E Buffman

Marcella E. Buffman 97 of Central Lake passed away peacefully, April 4, 2023 at Munson Medical Center.  She was born December 13, 1925 at home in Ellsworth, the daughter on Earl and Dorinda (Folsom) DeForest.

   Marcella lived a long, happy, and prosperous life.  She enjoyed crafting of all kinds, spending time with her friends, and playing beautiful music on the organ.  She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and gardening too.  If you knew Marcella you knew she loved to cook and she shared her cooking with everyone!  She’d put on a full meal and you’d never leave hungry!  Marcella’s family was her pride and joy and she loved the visits she’d get from them and when they stopped to see her.  She was especially happy when Diane moved back home to live with her.  They enjoyed all sorts of new adventures, crafts, and built a town Fairy Garden for all the children to enjoy.

   On December 23, 1948 in Flint she married Howard S. Buffman.        

Surviving are children, Victor (Gloria) Bloom of Central Lake, Eugene (Cindy) Bloom of Fairbanks, AK., Gary Buffman of Central Lake, Daniel Buffman of Central Lake, a brother-in-law Jerry Foco of Pinconning, 9 grandchildren, Debbie (Wayne) Pardee, Vince Bloom, Matt (Lynne) Bloom, Greg Bloom, Karen Lowry-Bloom, Luke (Jen) Buffman, Charlie Dawson, Christie Sexton and Matt Sexton, 18 great-grandchildren, Wayne Pardee, Kiefer, Carli, and Kelsi Lowry, Kristina (Ryan), Dakota (Claire), Austin (Karlee), Serena and Tegun Dawson, Logan, Devon and Erika Bloom, Dylan (Lauren) and Delaney Buffman, Trevor and Trenton Buffman, Matthew Bloom and Brett Murray and many great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Howard in 2012, daughter Diane Dawson in 2021, daughter-in-law Janice Buffman 2011, 4 grandsons Todd Bloom in 2023, Tim Buffman 2021, Erik and Derek Bloom, father of Vic and Eugene - Virgil Bloom, daughter-in-law Judy Buffman, 2 half sisters Edith Bell and Hester Somerville, half brother Floyd LaValley, and many sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 11^th at 12 Noon at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor Russ Tharp will officiate.  Visitation will also be on Monday, April 10^th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Central Lake Food Pantry, c/o FCC, PO BOX 326, Central Lake, MI 49622.
