Margaret Eileen St. Pierre, lovingly known as Eileen, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, just shy of her 91st birthday. Born on July 19, 1934, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Lyle and Margaret (Handlon) Ward, Eileen spent her life across several Michigan communities, including Lansing, Cadillac, Howell, and most recently, Lake City, as well as spending many winters in Clearwater, Florida.
Eileen attended St. Mary's School in Lansing and later devoted herself to raising her four sons as a stay-at-home mother — a role she embraced with fierce love, devotion, and pride. As her children grew, she began working part-time in the catalog departments of Sears and JCPenney, eventually finding her stride as a bank teller at several local institutions including 1st National Bank.
Eileen was devout in her faith and a prayer warrior! She prayed the rosary often, mostly to help keep her sons safe and out of trouble! She was very social and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked playing cards, especially Pepper, and dancing in her younger years. She never met a stranger and welcomed all into her home to enjoy her warm hospitality. Eileen made the best pies you could imagine, learning from her mom, and her pie crust was top notch! She was always positive; keeping the best light on any situation ~ she could have founded the Optimist club!
On Aug. 13, 1955 she married Charles St. Pierre. They enjoyed 54 years of love, faith, and family. After Charles’s passing, she found companionship again with her dear partner, Santo Seminatore, with whom she shared eight meaningful years.
Eileen loved her family and will be greatly missed by the legacy she leaves behind including her children Brian (JoAnn) St. Pierre, Kevin (Tammy) St. Pierre, Ward (Laura) St. Pierre, David (Lisa) St. Pierre, grandchildren Shannon (Rob) Kalbfleisch, Michelle (Joe) Kalbfleisch, Kathryn (Scott) Boss, Marie (Nate) Charbonneau, Michael (Samantha) St. Pierre, Steven St. Pierre, Nathan (Angela) St. Pierre, Jeremy St. Pierre, Maureen St. Pierre, Paul (Kelli) Seaney, Katelyn (Nick) Thomas, Jacob (Hali) Seaney, Luke (Rachel) Seaney, and 27 great grandchildren plus one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, and many beloved friends and relatives.
Eileen was the heart of her home and a steadfast presence in the lives of those she loved. She found her greatest joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and took special pride in being a gracious and generous hostess. Known for her strength, quick wit, and a slightly mischievous sense of humor — particularly her tendency to laugh when someone took a minor spill — she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
