Louise Small

Louise Watson Small of Charlevoix (formerly of Saginaw, MI) died at her home May 18th, 2024. She was born February 18th, 1928 in Albee Township, daughter of the late George Hamilton and Olga (Block) Watson. She married Robert H. Small on August 22, 1953 in Saginaw. Robert preceded her in death in 2008.

She will be missed by her children, Tamara Watson-Small of Charlevoix, David H. Small (Mary Cruder) of Brant, Kelly Small (Stan Capshaw) of Kalamazoo, sister Olga Watson Crotty of California, Sisters-in-law Nancy McCormick Watson and Esther Watson, grandchildren Benjamin Small (Tiffany Elwood) of Birch Run, Claire Louise Capshaw of Kalamazoo, Samuel Small of Kalamazoo, Wyatt Hamilton Capshaw (Sarah Newell) of Kalamazoo, great-grandchildren Eira, Hollis and Winter Capshaw of Kalamazoo, Hamilton Small and soon to be born Eloise Small, Chloe and Claire Bonner of Birch Run. She was predeceased by brothers George (Helen), Frank, Daniel (Inese), and James Watson, and sister Margaret Kennelly.

Louise taught school in Albee Township, Buena Vista Township, and Saginaw City for 29 years, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed reading, making quilts for her children and grandchildren, basket making, and knitting.
