Lou Ann Purdy, 86 of Central Lake, died Friday, July 3, 2020 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.  She was born April 17, 1934 in Charlevoix, the daughter of Ernest and Christine (Tornga) Brown.

Lou Ann was a lifelong member of the Belltower Reformed Church in Ellsworth.  She was active in the church singing in the choir and playing the piano there.  She also played the piano at Meadow Brook.  Lou Ann enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, and sewing too.

Surviving are her children Charlene (Gary) Roberts of East Jordan, Sherry Purdy of Pierson, FL, Robert Purdy of Central Lake, Kim (Kevin) Ranum of Gwinn, MI, sisters June Veldcamp of Ellsworth, Virginia (Jim) VandeWege of Plainwell, Betty Bennett of Nashville, MI, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Chuck” Purdy, her parents, brother Frank Brown and sister Linda Gander.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon at the Belltower Reformed Church.  Interment will follow in Atwood Cemetery, Banks Twp.  Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 8, from 4 to 6 pm at the Central Lake of Mortensen Funeral Homes.   Memorial contributions can be given to the Belltower Reformed Church, 8033 Church Road, Ellsworth, MI 49729.
