Lois Dustin

Lois Dustin, 72, of Central Lake, passed away October 3rd, 2021.

She was born September 6, 1949, and lovingly adopted to the late Reuben and Violet (Minor) Person. She graduated from Central Lake High School in 1967.

Lois loved cooking and baking. You could always find her in the kitchen at home or at the Bellaire Bar; she especially liked trying out new recipes and asking her children if it was any good and if it was a “keeper”.  Lois was especially known in the community for her time spent working in Bellaire at Mrs.Pete’s Resturant for many years. She enjoyed traveling and was always planning trips with family and close friends; even short weekend trips. She enjoyed planning and preparing for holidays with family and friends which usually included many competitive games of Marbles.

Lois was passionate most of her life about finding her biological family, and after many years of searching she finally found three sisters of which she got to know and spend time with.

She married the late Robert Dustin and they shared many wonderful years together. They enjoyed camping, boating with her son and daughter in law, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.  Lois is survived by her children’s father: Jim (Jan) Risteau, her son “Jimmy” (Tammy) Risteau, her stepchildren Diana (Korri) Fanger and Tony (Marie) Dustin.  Her sisters: Patricia Howe of Nevada, Karolyn Bonnell of Florida, and Pam Russell of Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Amber Juracko Risteau, Amanda Dawson and Katie Shawl, sister-in-law Sally Person, along with 6 step- grandchildren, 1 great- granddaughter along with many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her daughter Christina Marie Bose, her loving husband Robert Dustin, her sister Linda Person and brothers Robert “Bruce” and Starr Person.
