Kenneth A. Kelly,  63, of Bellaire, passed away on July 19, 2021 at his home.

Ken was born on May 12, 1958, in Petoskey, the son of Maurice and Beverly (Counterman) Kelly.

He was a Bellaire resident most of his life and owned and operated Ken Kelly Construction which he ran until the early 2000’s.   Following that, he went to work at Lamina until his retirement.     Ken enjoyed helping people no matter what they needed and was an avid golfer, but at the center of his world was his family.   He always put them first, especially his daughter and granddaughter.

He is survived by his daughter Maggie (Mike) Klopschinski of Bellaire, a granddaughter Kylie Klopschinski of Bellaire, a grandson coming very soon, 2 sisters, Sue Kelly of Traverse City, Kathy Lovett of Fishers, IN, 2 brothers, Brian Kelly of Marquette, Keith (Judy) Kelly of Manton and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Diana Kay Kelly on November 9, 2020 and his parents.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kearney Township Hall with Roger Mason officiating.

Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to a memorial college fund set up for his grandchildren. Please make checks payable to Margaret Klopschinski, c/o Alden State Bank, PO BOX 1169, Bellaire, MI 49615.  Envelopes will also be available at his services.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
