Kate Marie McManus 48 of Alden, passed away August 3, 2021.   She was born September 24, 1972, in Flint, MI, the daughter of William and Maureen (Walsh) Stenback.

Kate graduated from Perry High School and the University of Michigan.  She was a proud patriot and served in the US Army.  She volunteered with veterans organizations and donated to their causes.  Currently she worked as a branch manager at the Secretary of State in Kalkaska.

Kate had a big personality with a smile that went on for miles.  She was kind and compassionate and dedicated to helping others.  She helped specifically with domestic assault victims through their purse program with the Michigan State Police.  Kate enjoyed reading and was a wonderful writer.  She loved swimming and water sports as a young child and continued to enjoy them as an adult.

On October 19, 2002, in Bellaire, Kate married her best friend and soulmate Scott E. McManus who survives.  Also surviving are her children, the absolute prides and joys of her life, Kaela M. McManus of Westland and Jacob T. McManus of Alden, her sisters Julie Anne (Mark) Gould of Houston, Tx, Leta Groters of Grand Haven, nephew Daniel Stenback, niece Victoria Nagy, father-in-law Ed (Bonnie) McManus of Prudenville, and mother-in-law Carol Wojcik of Evart, aunt Mary Lou Gleason of Beverly Hills, MI, uncles Robert Walsh of Berkley and Chuck (Donna Roth) Stenback of Troy. She was preceded in death by her dear uncle Tom Stenback and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 8th, at 2 p.m. at Church In The Hills, Bellaire with Pastor David Ramage officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday, August 7th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The funeral service will be live streamed at churchinthehills.org.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to a Veterans charity of ones choice.
