Junior B. Cantrell,  90, of Mancelona, passed away on April 10, 2021 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.

Junior was born on February 20, 1931, in Mancelona Township, the son of Alvah and Electa (Henderson) Cantrell.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1959 where he was honorably discharged as an A/1C.   He employed at Dura in Mancelona for many years before retiring in 1994 and enjoyed camping, baseball, NASCAR and walking.

On April 19, 1955, he married Ila Robbins who preceded him in death on January 15, 2021.   Also preceding him in death were his parents, 4 siblings, Violet and Don, Phyllis, Bill and Debbie as well as Ron.

Surviving are his 2 children, Steve Cantrell, and Angela Rainey both of Mancelona, 5 grandchildren, Nathan (Jen) Cantrell, Amy (Jerry) Zundel, Scott Cantrell, Shawna (Rob) Cantrell, Whitney (D.W.) Czajkowski, 13 great-grandchildren, Keegan, Tiana, Brookelyn, Wyatt, Azlynn, Gunner, Junior, Jordan, Johnathan, Austin, Terry, Madison, and Chloe, 3 siblings, Wayne and Jan, Gary and Mary, Richard and AnnaMay as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona Township, where he will be buried along with his wife Ila.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL,  33607.

Arrangements are in care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
